Pug says: Talk about self praise! well the BlogMad administration takes the cake.They can't even put up a decent page for the Wall Of Fame, I've seen better junk mail pages than that!
Below is a comment left from Rush on my post Blogmad is Bad when I reached the 30K BlogMad status limit.
I would like some sort of public explanation how this came about! Have I been surfing all these crappy blogs for nothing?

Congrats guys but it doesn't end there I'm afraid.
If you look at the bottom of the blogmad site you'll notice something called a wall of fame, we'll be making a few changes that allow people who have hit the 30k target to achieve a new target and get a permamnet link on the wall of fame.
We'll keep you posted but congrats none the less guys :-)

Dunno michele.. I expect this is BM's great things! took long enough to sort that page out didn't it.
As for vest aka saby, I thought I would give him one special day to get things off his chest or should I say breasts and to show people what he really is! that's it now though, he's said his lot.

Am I missing some'at here old bean. What exactly have you done to upset Saby/Vest/Uncle Tom Cobbly n all? As a shop steward I've spent years trying to upset management but never had remotely this amount of success. What is your secret? On the grounds he/she/they/it are a bit dodgy in the spelling department he/she/they/it have just got to be management material.

While I respect the comments you make regarding the system, the wall of fame or any other aspect of the site, I would like to point out that I think you are being a little hasty in your proverbial judgement.
The wall of fame was a slapped together- quick free gift where we could list people who have achieved certain accolades.
The original idea was to set a new target for the people who reached blogmad status and then list every single person who reached that new status, however we simply going to list them at a predetermined yet undisclosed amount of blogs surfed.
That link will remain on the front page of blog for the life of blogmad. Sure it may not be very aesthetically pleasing, but we'll redesign it once we have some free time. But the point is not the beauty of it, but rather the weight it carries.
because the wall of fame is right off the main page, it should get at least a pagerank 5 at the next update.
Not to mention the fact that the wall of fame link is on every PR6 link we have as well through the site and thus gets increased by association.
That page contains a link back to your profile which you can have as many blogs listed as you like. Your profile page will eventually (*yes, eventually; see LONG HAUL comment below) get a pagerank because of being links to from the wall of fame page.
What alot of people dont understand is that pagerank dictates the frequency at which your blogmad gets crawled in order to get indexed on search engines.
What we are trying to do with the wall of fame thing is as a thank you to those people who support us we'll give them a means of getting another avenue of links back to their blogs which in turn will increase the frequency of crawling which turn means that your content gets into search engines faster
which in turn means MORE traffic and so the circle continues.
Just because a person is not listed there now, does not mean that they will not be listed there in a few months. Don't know about you, but we're definitely in this for the long haul*.
and last but not least, this is NOT the big things that we have planned. While I am not going to go into specifics, I can say that what we do have in the pipeline is a bunch of new and awesome games as well as a few other goodies which affect traffic. we are looking at joint venturing with some rather large traffic generating sites that are willing to drive some traffic to blogmad and visa versa which in turn means MORE traffic yet again which is what people want.
We have been out there speaking to people, trying to formulate ventures etc so that we may bring you more and more traffic.
We have always worked on the premise that what you put in is what you get out.
Something to remember. Blogmad is currently a non profit venture. We have a full time staff of 4 people who code, write, design and provide support while maintaining day jobs and juggling studies at the same time. Every cent that we make goes back into the site one way or another. Bandwidth, servers, R&D, advertising etc. We do not ask a single cent from anyone to use our site. in fact we initially had to dip into our own pockets on a few occassions to keep the site afloat.
So I would really like to ask before you continue to mouth off about a system that has served you well thus far and for free I might add, that you try to be a little more considerate and consider that we do what we do because we enjoy it. And if anyone who provides a free service to whomever in the world is continously met with scorn and snide remarks and calls of bullshit they sooner or later stop serving for free.
If we got paid to build , monitor, maintain and nuture the site then we would take your criticism alot differently and wouldn't take it to heart.
Afterall, life is like a shit sandwich; the more bread you have, the less shit you have to eat.

Ah! rush, nice of you to drop by. I'm sure my readers who belong to BlogMad will appreciate your comment, it's not often we get the jist of what's happening from the admins, the weekly or monthly BM Newsletter never seems to arrive.
I shall not comment on the first part of your statement as you have already told me this before when we had a dispute over the lottery if you remember.
You keep saying that this is a free service! Perhaps, for now!
We all know that no one does anything for free these days unless there is something at the end of it, (I've been caught out to many times in the past for that one I'm afraid) charities etc. excluded of course.(although some of them are dodgy)
You may try on the old Sob Story in your statement for the benefit of others, but I'm sorry it doesn't work for me.
Quite a few people have contacted me, enquiring why I surf the blogs so much! I can assure you I'm not on any ego trip that's for sure.
It's to hit the Wall Of Fame! to be like you said, up there for the duration of BlogMad.
It's strange that you wont go into specifics regarding up coming events. (Why keep it a secret?) Other people might want to help.
Lastly, if it weren't for the top surfers, people using BlogMad wouldn't have so many hits on there Blogs, it's people like us that keeps the site going. I've seen what goes on over in the Shout Box.
A little respect for us ordinary people wouldn't go amiss some times, instead of giving praise to the Administration all of the time.

from July 15 this year, 243 copies sold in two months thanks to saby and his intended put down of the book which misfired in my favour, over 70% were sold on the Indian sub continent and a few via my site.

vest-I would normally give you the benefit of the doubt, but I cannot give my apologies on this one. I know what I saw! the street plate said BOGIS ST now I might have been on the wrong corner or the wrong street, don't forget I had a few beers by then, but I remember asking my mate about it.
